Bare Hill Pond — July 16, 2007
This page is from Thea's fifth birthday at Bare Hill Pond on July 16, 2007. The original page was almost entirely photos, which is really all it needed to be at the time. It was one long stack of full-size pictures from a summer birthday gathering at a place that has been part of so many of my own memories.
I have kept the photos in their original sequence, but removed four duplicate image references that appeared on the old page. The pictures are now larger, clickable, and much easier to browse on a phone, tablet, or modern computer. Someday I may add more names and stories as I remember exactly who was there and what was happening in each photo.
Bare Hill Pond has been connected to so many chapters of my life, from the old summer camp years to family gatherings much later. Seeing these photos from 2007 reminds me how the same places keep showing up in our lives in completely different ways. This time it was Thea turning five, family gathered together, and a beautiful July day by the water.

These are the kinds of pages I am glad I put online years ago, even when the original formatting was incredibly simple. At the time I was mostly trying to get the pictures onto the web. Nearly twenty years later, the page has become a little family time capsule: Thea at five years old, everyone gathered at Bare Hill Pond, and an entire summer afternoon preserved one photograph at a time.
